GETTING STARTED

Let's be honest - starting something new isn't always easy.

Pilates can also be a little intimidating.

Whether you are new to Pilates, looking for a new studio, want to try Pilates with a group of friends, or have been referred by a fellow practitioner or physician for pain management, it can be confusing where to start.

To get started with scheduling a class or session, find more information here:

Please read below for helpful tips on how to get started if you're not sure what's right for you:

New to Pilates:

If you are new to Pilates, both mat and equipment, please schedule an Introductory Private session. This will allow you to move at your own pace as you learn about the studio, equipment, safety, and Pilates principles. It will also help you determine what next steps work best for you in regards to classes or private sessions.

If you have practiced mat Pilates but have never used the equipment, we still request an Introductory Private session so you can learn to use the equipment safely and effectively in a class or session.

Looking for a new Pilates studio:

If you have been practicing Pilates regularly and are looking to try out a new class or studio experience, feel free to purchase a drop-in Open Level class.

Looking for specialty sessions, pain management, was referred to see Emily Freeman, or found Emily on the NKT website:

If you have been referred to see Emily Freeman or are interested in more specialized pain management solutions utilizing the Pilates equipment, please schedule a Private session with Emily Freeman.

If you would like to speak with Emily first to clarify any details or discuss specific questions or concerns, please book a 15 minute consultation appointment.

I've done Pilates before... but it's been a while ...

If you are unsure of how it will feel to get back on the equipment after a break from practice or classes, we recommend an Introductory Private session for a one-on-one refresher and to see what modifications or changes may be helpful at this time.

I've done Mat Pilates and/or PLNK before, but I've never worked on the Pilates equipment:

While the Pilates principles are consistent for Mat and Equipment practices, we respectfully request an Introductory Private Session to learn the safety and proper use of the equipment before signing up for a class. This is not only out of respect for those who have already learned the safety and use of equipment, but also so you can have a more effective class experience yourself, so you feel more prepared.

PLNK classes are inspired by the Pilates equipment and methodology but have a very different feel and pace than a traditional Pilates equipment class. An introductory private session is ideal to learn the safety and use of the equipment before entering a class, but if you are looking for a class ASAP, an Open Level equipment class is what you should book.

I want to try Pilates with a group of friends or schedule a Private Group Class:

If you are interested in trying out Pilates with a group, bringing in friends, family, or co-workers to introduce them to the studio, or reserving the studio space for a private group class, please purchase and schedule a Private Group Class.

You may also book a free consultation appointment with Emily Freeman to discuss any questions on scheduling or specific requests for the class.

I've practiced Pilates before, but want to bring someone with me who has never tried Pilates or been on the equipment:

If you are interested in trying out Pilates with one other person, please book a Duet Pilates session.

If you feel the person you would like to introduce to Pilates would benefit from an individual session first before the duet, please have that individual book an Introductory Private session. Then once that has been scheduled and/or completed, you can book the duet session for both of you to attend.
